Husky hike in Tamok valley
Join one of our local guides for a hike in beautiful Tamok valley accompanied by one or more of our joyful and playful Alaskan huskies. The huskies at our kennel come in all different sizes and shapes and with a variety of different personalities. Some of them are calm and focused and know how to save their energy, while others are full of curiosity about their surroundings and are always up for an adventure.
If you are more than one person joining us for this trip, we will try to match you up with a dog that will be a good companion for you. You will have a hip harness to attach your dog to the leash, so please let us know if you have problems with your back.
Dogs on wheels
This tour is part of the preparation for us to get ready for wintertime sledding. We start training our dogs in August using carts to go into Tamokdalen, the valley winding along the river from our kennel towards the high mountain plateau leading to Finland and Sweden. As a part of this experience you will help harness the dogs and spend time with them after the trip when they run in our free-running pen.
Glacier Hike
The glacier hike takes place in the heart of the Lyngen Alps a chain of steep mountains starting at fjordlevel and summiting very close to the sun. The name Lyngen comes from the northern word logn, which means calm or quiet and is fitting for this beautiful place that has not yet been discovered by most travelers visiting the northern part of Norway.
You will either have Tom Frode or Helga as your guide when you go on this adventure. Both are locals and know the outback of Lyngen well, and will provide you with most of the answers to the questions you might have .
Overnight glacier trip
The overnight glacier experience will take you in to some of the most incredible scenery in the Lyngen area. This is the trip you will want to do if you are looking for something out of the ordinary without having too much experience with alpine adventures.
Guided Top-tour hiking to Daltinden
One of the most popular mountain peaks in the southern part of the Lyngen peninsula, is Daltinden. Reaching 1533 meters above sea level, this peak offers one of the best views of the area and makes for a fantastic day out. In the winter season the mountain provides for top-tour skiing well into the month of May, with plenty of skiers making their long way into the valley and up the northern face of the mountain. However, in the summer season the better route for summiting this mountain starts at the village of Furuflaten and brings us through the forest and onto the open plateau beneath Daltinden.
Dogsledding in Lyngen – Daytour
This trip is about exploring and going through varied terrain in a majestic landscape. The trip will be approx. 4-5 hours long and on a daily basis we will make a decision on where we can provide the best dog sledding. Because the trip is quite long and with challenging trails, you need to be in good physical shape. Each person drives their own sled with a small group of huskies in front. Before leaving, you get the chance to help change the harness on the team, but also greet our Alaska huskies. An incredible bond arises between the huskies and the people on the sleigh. You will quickly learn to guide and talk to them, and if there is one thing the Huskies really love, it is running and getting a hug. This is a trip where you will experience friendship with animals, beautiful scenery, and fantastic views in the heart of the Lyngen Alps.
Dogsledding in Lyngen – Eveningtour
This trip is all about exploring the Lyngen area during the night. Maybe we will see the northern light, maybe the stars are giving us a wonderful show or if you’re lucky it’s full moon and you will see the mountains under the stars. If the conditons prevent us from driving in Lyngsdalen we will find the best alternative possible. This is a night trip witch gives you the possibility to watch the northern lights from a dogsled.
